On Saturday morning, No. 7 California will begin conference play at the Pac-12 South Tournament against Utah at Sun Devil Beach Volleyball Facility. The Utes come into their first match of the day following a pair of losses yesterday to No. 14 Washington (5-0) and No. 19 Arizona in a tight 3-2 defeat. Langley Griffin and Katie McAlister earned a win for Utah (19-21, 21-16, 15-13) as did the pair of Rylee Johnson and Bella Vezzani (20-22, 21-19, 15-12) but the other three teams for the Utes dropped their matches in straight sets to suffer the team's second loss of the day.

The Golden Bears come into Saturday's match against the Utes with an overall record of 6-2 this season and a two-match win streak. The team's most recent win came against Loyola Marymount in a 4-1 victory. Ella Dreibholz and Portia Sherman pushed their match to three sets before to earn the win after dropping the first set. The other three wins for the Bears came in straight sets. The team's only loss came from the pair of Sierra Caffo and Kendall Peters who dropped both sets 21-19.
